i really dont want this topic to get buried, for me its the only idea that makes sense at this point. was really hoping for some kind of reset that didnt include a wipe, but theres no real consensus on what era was the best, and apparently too much code for a simplistic revert. currently the mods main problem is lack of pop, and i dont agree with a wipe being the solution

i honestly think this idea (free respec/forge) is the only idea that would bring players back, after the lastest xp tweak i have the incentive to grind another 100mill to 34, but noone is really playing.

imo free respecs and reforges is the only idea that has potential to keep this mod going, so many pros, i cant think of a single con. alot of us have been doing the same shit for years, we all know each other based on gear we dont even need banners. it would be nice to try new things, those of you that have traded entire sets of gear know how long it can take, meanwhile you're trying something new mostly unloomed.

ive tried alot of different builds with alot of different gear and i havent even come close to trying all the wacky combinations crpg has to offer. trying a new build with new gear every week. that would keep me playing.

Skip the funs at lvl 31 I don't have much of a problem with but the other two I do not support. Respecs and reforges having no penalty doesn't make sense to me though the option to buy them for no penalty for a reasonable amount of gold I do like.

this will sound rude, but i have to ask, and this is the only way i can think of wording it. when you have a full set of looms and plenty of gold yourself...how does other people having gold/looms, affect you in any way what so ever? especially with free respecs, you wouldnt need the market, what would it matter if someone had billions of gold?
it would only affect new players, and i think the new player kit should be scraped, give them 12-15 looms, some gold, free respecs/forge, and they can choose w.e. starting kit they want.

i just think its time at this point.

I'm not trying to poke fun at your hobby, i'm just saying comparing reenactment to reality is not a good argument. It's not exactly what I would call a "hardcore" representation of Medieval life or warfare .

Cool to watch but it doesn't prove anything because it's extremely low energy and not realistic at all. ( obviously for safety reasons )

No, that is not what I'm talking about. Those people often wear unhistorical armors, which have too much padding, too many safety features.
Real armor was worn with minimal padding, there were no visor locks (well except for a few helmets), and the battles were even less chaotic

All drawbacks are apparent to anyone who owns armor Salad. Because people who own it seek to reenact as much as they can. They train in it, fight in it, test it to its limits. They'd know far better than you would

dont forget that smithing and forging today is very different from the medieval times. today we have light weight metals/alloys and technology they didnt have back then.

not to mention foam and other materials for padding and so on

Yes, but the people I'm talking about have authentic stuff. The closest thing to medieval quality steel, thickness, the padding etc.
For example Tobias Capwell and Ian LaSpina. Their armors are as close as possible to armors of the medieval time.
