oh yeah I almost forgot one of my favorites that I should mention - it's a bit out of the ordinary but still qualifies as metal in my book. Very sad music, though...


I remember bingeing heaps of doom metal and post-rock a few years ago until I started feeling like it was too depressing, then to counter it I listened to cheesy power metal like Lost Horizon, Gloryhammer, Sonata Arctica etc for a while  :lol:, this album sounds really solid though, huge atmosphere.

Death is one of my favorite bands. Their music is fucking incredible.

Agreed, they're one of those very few bands where every album is at least a 4.5/5 for me, apart from maybe Scream Bloody Gore, which is still an absolute classic, but I feel like Leprosy is where Chuck really developed Death's sound; such a great mix of heavy riffs with memorable melodies. I've always found it strange how everyone considers Sweden to be the birthplace of melo-death when Chuck was doing a really similar style of "Gothenburg" riffs in the late 80s, I guess it was just less pronounced. Either way, he's gotta be one of the most influential metal song writers of all time.

The mod was barely functional when Prof started working on it; no DTV, no strat, WSE2 broken etc. The number of fixes he has implemented in such a sort period of time is unseen in cRPG history. He admits that not every patch has worked as intended, but actually cares enough to spend fuck loads of his own time trying to improve things.

When Horns gave up on cRPG and it was looking like the NA servers would be shut down, who else put their hand up to be a lead developer? We aren't always going to agree with every change that is made, but I think we can all agree that it's a great thing that someone is still working on the mod at all.

Tindel, Maybe INSTEAD OF BEING A RETARDED FUCK FACE, POST SOME ACTUAL FEEDBACK AND SUGGEST WAYS A PATCH COULD BE IMPROVED. THESE AUTISTIC QQ THREADS GET US LITERALLY NOWHERE

As long as there is ranged there will be melee crying. Their numbers matter sure, but the nature of the class will always end up making people complain no matter how many they are. Unless adapted to and played around, game evolving a meta to defeat them aka shields at the very minimum. It will be borderline impossible to satisfy someone unwilling to even carry a shield when it comes to the concept of fighting someone that takes you down at range.

There's always going to be crying from all classes, but I think it's undeniable that the number of ranged players has skyrocketed recently, why should we put them all on the same team if it can be avoided? Carrying a shield is fine, but everyone throwing points into shield will have other effects on the group fighting meta too - 2h and polearm heroes being viable is something that sets cRPG apart from native, but they just get destroyed with the regular class imbalance we're seeing lately.

So how do you make a ranged cap?

A slot system, where there is like 20% cap per team on bow/xbow ranged? If you come too late, you can still spawn but without your ranged equip. Same for cav, latecomers spawn without mounts. We will probably have some crusaders then, while being inf melee "jamming" slots with donkeys and crap launchers for the lulz. How will it work with banner balance or auto-balance in general? Is there a better way than assigning slots by "first come first served"?

1v1? lol. In battle? By not having 80% of ranged on the same team. It happens way too often, even the ranged players are saying it themselves. 0 wpf xbow needs to be fixed too, but that's actually a nerf to melee players.

if yes to any of the above, yes, you are in fact probably a spoiled melee elitist

There's nothing wrong with being a lone wolf on a public server, trying to coordinate without some sort of VOIP is meme-tier at the best of times. Put yourself first, pub scrubs will never have your back.

How can we hope to achieve any class synergy while teams of pure melee are regularly being put against teams of 90% ranged? You can expect to keep seeing QQ threads until something is done about class balance (I believe Prof is working on this, what a champ).

I'm not asking for a range nerf; if xbow wasn't viable with fucking 0 wpf as it is currently, that's a nerf to the melee players that carry an xbow for the lols. Retards like Cajun wearing full plate, still able to oneshot people without engaging them and without sacrificing any skill points to do so.

Honestly, I would like to see just ONE proposal about balancing ranged that isnt utter trash.

Auto balance tweaks and xbow wpf requirements are good starting points imo. Also delete ranged, obviously.
