Smaller communities

Hello all,

I had a distinct love for cRPG, and played it pretty much from start to finish. I always wanted to get into strategus too, but my ability was limited due to not living in NA or EU. When Melee: Battlegrounds was announced, I was under the impression that there would be Epic, and Battlegrounds, with the second-of-the-latter being akin to cRPG.

My question is that, will Australia (or smaller communities like Japan) be over-looked when this game goes public?

Hello,

Melee Battlegrounds is now known as 'Of Kings and Men' and will enter Early Access on steam in around 20 days. The new separate forum for this game instead of cRPG can be found here:

I've linked a particular topic where an Australian player is asking something similar to you.

There's no official response yet. The main concern for 'The Epic' section of the game is that it requires a large volume of players to really achieve it's vision, and this may not be something smaller communities could do on their own.

There are going to be more casual quick 'battle' servers that people can join to get instant action, it might be worth making your case for smaller communities to at least have servers like this that they can join with decent ping, even if not every community will get it's own version of 'The Epic' (note: still not confirmed one way or the other)

That being said, the most likely way to make sure your community gets full support when the game moves towards full release (after 1.5-2 years of early access) is to make sure the devs can see clear interest from people of your country/community in the game during the early access period. That may inform their decision
