It wasn't elite enough, duh.

Also, it upsets me to see that blackbow has made some enemies here. I agree that he comes too agressive with his posts, but give the guy a break. He hasn't been able to play his preferred style (mine too) for more than 4 (?) years because of "balance" reasons. One could argue that it's more like a culmination of whining and terrible decisions. But what does "one" know right?

As an archer, I appreciate the changes on the melee weapon options. But the biggest problem archery has today is still there.
Having said that; I know these things take time and I appreciate your efforts.

The camel is extremely overpowered. The templar horse, hospitaller horse and master knight horse are all complete garbage.

I wonder what would happen practically if you gave camels a 'Charge' stat of '1' or '0'. Would they stop-dead when they run into infantry?

Ancient texts called "Age of Empires 2" taught me that camels are anti-cav units but not anti-inf. Should a camel really be able to bowl people over? High speed acceleration and high maneuver stat might let them fulfil an anti-cav niche and/or kill people on the ground, just not in a direct fashion?

I get most annoyed when someone makes a terrible and overly-aggressive argument for something I would otherwise agree with.

The shite-ness of their argument means they won't get what they want, and makes anyone that wants an archery buff look like an idiot. Even if archery atm doesn't do what it should imo.

It's good that I'm not going crazy if I find the camels stupidly tanky/too agile. Also the archery melee buff should be reverted if anything, and blunt weapons should be put on par with 1h cut weapons.

Spent most of the day wrestling with fixing the bad meshes/collisions for damaged walls in strategus, fixed them all, but do not have much energy left. Will tackle my post tomorrow.

He brings it on himself. If he actually trying to have a constructive argument, he's awful at it. If he thinks bows are too weak, he should campaign to have them buffed instead of complaining about crossbows. The worst thing he could do is accuse of the balance team of unethical practices when they're actually replying to him. He just turns them away and makes sure he won't be heard in the future.

Now, the latter three points aren't necessarily difficult, they just require...create polls for...

It never works for gamechanging features. If you present drastically different suggestions, players will always pick the ones that benefit them personally more, not the ones that make a game more balanced overall (make a poll if they'd like to get 50 free lp each and see, and I'm not saying I wouldn't vote "yes" too). If you want to include community in decision making (which is awesome), please make it more about various options of the same idea, which you know will be good for the mod either way, and/or asking for opinions on a specific mechanic instead of asking to pick one.

Perhaps not, but I think it's a good place to start in getting the temperature of such an idea. And I believe that the polls I'm making are largely beneficial either way, and might bring up interesting discussion. I'd definitely rather submit a poll on an idea I have than do nothing at all.

Not sure if you're implying archers are underpowered but I can thoroughly disagree with you, though, you are right, they're not balanced correctly. Agicher needs to return and STRcher needs a slight nerf, the melee weapon buff needs to be reversed too imo.
