I sometimes played pvp in ds because it was fun invading others, but I don't play it to get good in fighting against others because warband just has the overall better combat system

The PvP can be interesting, it certainly doesn't have as much depth as Warband, but they're too different to be comparable really. Reflexes and timing are important, and you need to have a decent understanding of the different meta weapons and their animations to do really well, although it's definitely one of those games where ultra passive/defensiveness is rewarded too much imo.

Consoles got the PC version which is obvious improvement over not having any version (current gen) and having piss poor version (previous gen), while PC also got PC version for 30 bucks extra. Who got the better deal?

Man, online activity is through the roof. Im having a great time in remaster, 20€ well worth it for me. Though there are many cheaters softbanning people so anti cheat is still broken, and people are rightfully angry. I dont expect From to really care about it much though. As far as offline experience goes its pretty damn good though, clean 60fps without any gameplay changes is great, new particle effects i actually underestimated greatly, they have a really cool touch on the game, some things look gorgeus with them. QoL changes are great, and stick jumping is sick.

Just wanted to post it here if anyone is pondering the purchase. Theres a lot of negativity, but i dont think it weighs as much as it seems, if you enjoy the game as a solo experience that is.

Pretty keen to buy this, have you noticed any difference with PvP now that they've moved from P2P to dedicated servers? I'll be buying it regardless, just curious.

I have not PvP'd at all, i dont like the pvp of ds1 and on pc apparently theres a lot of hackers so im not so eager on getting softbanned from someone fucking my savefile up lol. The pvp seems to be flourishing though, at least of what ive seen on twitch. It seems less laggy for sure, but its more like a consistent version of what a good connection previously used to be. So no insane lagstabs, but still a couple questionable ones.

Supposedly gravelording works well now, i saw a lot of their signs everywhere when i was online. And people seem to be summoning like crazy, each bonfire is covered in white and yellow. I havent delved into 3 phantom adventures yet that is completely new from ds3, but it seems like gankfests could be happening at a larger scale (but praise be to phantoms using estus, at least balancing it out a tad).

So pretty much launch day for Dark Souls 1 on PC except you can actually summon people without having to wait 30 - 40 min for the game to actually put you in the player pool (thanks GFWL).

Oh and btw, they do not have dedicated servers, they have dedicated matchmaking servers which is different. The game still has a crazy amount of players, peaking at like 17k which is more than prepare to die ever had on pc.

Heard they use the weapon matchmaking system in the remastered, do they? If so that's so dumb haha.

They do, makes for less twinks but ive still seen dark bead twinks. Also armor upgrades dont count which can make a moderate difference.

Tarkus, the knight with no dialogue, only appearing for a single summon, still manages to be one of the most badass characters ever. If only we could have flipped the elevator in anor londo before he found his undoing.
